It would be very useful if specific fields (including Custom Fields could be configured to be mandatory/optional.
This will ensure that all the required info is provided and avoid having to screen new Bugs for completeness

perhaps with this additional for Listboxes a possibility is given to define state transitions which allow to define a kind of "Workflow"

This would be a really useful enhancement so that reported problems to have more contextual information.

Should required marker be a global - for custom field in all projects - or set on a per-project basis?

Ideally it should apply on a per project basis.
It would also be great if the standard fields didn't have to be defaulted .If a default is not set the users are forced to select the appropriate value instead of just leaving it defaulted
