I would like to be alerted on issues that are closed or resolved when a user edits them in the same way that I am on active/open issues. I have still not found a good way to do this without having all my colleagues alerted on all of their and my issues too.)

Check the notification scheme for your role - practically, if settings for EDIT suit you, you can set it up the same way for RESOLVE and CLOSE.
