BUGtrack Support 12/20/2007 8:03:12 PM BUGtrack service is provided as an online hosted subscription only, and currently there are no plans to offer an "in box" version for an internal installation. Online subscription has the following well-known advantages, such as: - there is nothing to install on the client site; - there is no hardware or software to buy and no maintenance costs; - unlimited customer support and instant lifetime updates are included. To satisfy some of our customers' security concerns, we've developed a backup utility that downloads complete BUGtrack data backup, including attachments and saves them locally – each particular bug (record) as a separate HTML file. The resulted bunch of files may be indexed and will be searchable locally. You’ll be able to schedule this backup utility to run periodically to synchronize your off-line copy with the online database. Only changes will be synchronized to minimize network traffic and speed-up the backup process. Needless to say that we continue running global database backups daily as we normally do to ensure data safety, so this backup tool is only needed to comply with some companies' policies when it is absolutely necessary to keep the local copy.
