A new field "Resolve Cateogry" for closed bugs
Before bug's status changed to Closed, it goes to "Resolved" Status. Can we have a additional field something like "Resolve Category" which will have values like FIXED, DUPLICATE, SOURCE DATA ISSUE etc. As of now these values are coming along with "RESOLVED" status so it is difficult to figure out how the defect was resolved whether by code fix, or duplicate etc.
Because once the status is changed to CLOSED then there is no way to figure out how that defect was resolved. We need the solution to this ASAP.

Have you considered using "custom fields" to create your own resolve category?

Yes. I have created a custom field "Resolving Category". But how would I get that field displayed when I click on button "Resolve".
My requirement is when I click on Resolve button, I should get one drop down to select "Resolution Type". At present also, I do get a drop down (Resolution Status) but when the defect status changes to "CLOSED" then there is no way to filter the defects with "Resolution Status".
If I get to know how to get "Resolution Status" in the reports that will also solve my purpose.
